about
Love & Art was written about two years ago and intended for our next album. But as the world quickly turned into COVID-19 craziness, the song seemed both timely and fitting.
It's about feeling like things are spiralling out of control a bit and how we all need to find something - be it a person/a substance/a passion - that can bring some comfort.
Right before the world officially shut down, we were able to sneak into a studio and get this song tracked in an understated way. We hope you like it, and we hope you're doing well wherever this finds you aka at home!
P.s. For all you folks fond of Miss Mary-Jane, we hope you spark one up during the chorus here on 4/20. Listen and you’ll know why.
lyrics
Life is a joke, enough is enough I said
Well honey I'm broke, don't know where the money went
And what do you say, when this anxiety's got your brain
What do you do? Well, I wanna be someone new
Oh, I think I might be falling apart
So pour me a drink, let's talk about love & art
I think I might be going insane
So roll me a joint, take away all this pain
Oh, we'll try, try, try
So hard
Life is a joke, a furious mass descent
But I got a new phone
And now I'm touching your smooth, screen skin
I think I might be falling apart
So pour me a drink, let's talk about love & art
Oh, I think I might be going insane
So roll me a joint, take away all this pain
Oh, we'll try, try, try
So hard
And I don't know where to begin
Can we try just once to feel love again
You know all things come and all things go
And we're counting down the minutes
Till this all blows up
I think I might be falling apart
So pour me a drink, let's talk about love & art
I think I might be going insane
So roll me a joint, take away all this pain
Oh, we'll try, try, try, so hard
Oh we'll try, try try, so hard
Oh we'll try, try-yy-yy
Oh we'll try, try-yy-yy
Yeah let's try, try-yy-yy
So hard
